Let’s Talk

I didn’t become a coach because I figured life out.

Quite the opposite.

I’ve spent much of my life asking big questions, taking risks, changing direction, and trying to understand why the answers I was so certain would bring me fulfillment sometimes didn’t.

I’ve had successes I’m deeply proud of and failures I thought I might never recover from. I’ve built things. Lost things. Reinvented myself more than once. I’ve experienced the end of relationships, profound uncertainty about my work and purpose, and periods when the life I was living no longer made sense to me.

I know how frightening those moments can be.

I also know how quickly we can turn against ourselves when they happen.

We think we should know what to do. We search for answers. We make plans. We ask friends for advice. We lie awake trying to solve our lives in the middle of the night.

And when none of it works, we begin to wonder if something is wrong with us.

My own experience has taught me something different.

Sometimes the confusion isn’t the problem. Sometimes it’s the beginning of a more honest conversation.

A Place to Think Out Loud

Before becoming a coach, I spent more than twenty years as a writer, storyteller, and Creative Director. My work required me to listen closely, ask questions, recognize patterns, and help people understand what they were really trying to say.

Over time, I realized these were the same qualities people sought me out for in my personal life.

I’ve always been the person people call when something isn’t making sense.

Not because I have all the answers. I don’t.

But I’m good at staying with a question.

I’m good at hearing the different strands of a story and helping someone separate what has become tangled together. I notice patterns. I hear contradictions. I ask questions that sometimes allow us to look at something from a completely different angle.

Most importantly, I create a place where people can tell the truth.

You don’t have to impress me. You don’t have to have the right words. You don’t have to make your story coherent before you tell it to me.

You can think out loud.

Together, we’ll listen closely to what is happening in your life and try to understand it.

Why I Do This Work

In the years I’ve spent coaching, I’ve noticed something.

The moments people are most frightened by are often the moments they are most eager to escape. The end of a relationship. The loss of someone we love. A career that no longer fits. A success that doesn’t feel the way we imagined it would. A failure we don’t know how to recover from. Or simply the growing realization that the life we’ve been living is no longer the life we want.

We want the uncertainty to end. We want an answer. We want to know what to do next.

But I’ve watched again and again as something begins to change when a person finally has a safe place to slow down and talk honestly about what is happening.

The confusion begins to loosen. The questions become clearer. Things that seemed hopelessly tangled begin to separate.

Not because I gave them the answer.

Because we finally made room to hear what their own experience was trying to tell them.

I believe there are moments in a human life that cannot be rushed.

These moments ask difficult questions of us.

My work is to help you stay with those questions long enough to hear what they are asking.

I won’t diagnose you. I won’t tell you who you should become. And I won’t hand you a five-step plan for fixing your life.

I’ll meet you where you are.

We’ll slow things down. We’ll untangle what’s become confused. We’ll look honestly at what is happening and make room for the understanding that is trying to emerge.

And from there, we’ll begin to find a way forward.

You don’t have to do it alone.

Let’s talk.
